ABOUT US
Welcome to our blog ! We are four undergraduates of philosophy enrolled in our second year. Classmates who for some already knew each other before the creation of our blog, and others met thanks to our English course.
Clément proposed a subject entitled « Upcoming times», to which Julie’s and Marie-Camille’s binomial adhered soon. Then, we met Cécile who was also interested in the subject and joined us.
Thus, our blog gathers curious and eclectic people who wish to explore and elaborate on some ideas about a hypothetical future. We also coalesce ourselves by our willingness to use and develop our imagination into writing. This one, as well inspired by our studies as our experience of life, confers on us and on our blog different ways of perceiving and experimenting at a time the actual world and… the upcoming world !
Marie-Camille is open to various topics such as physics, biology or archeology. Her knowledge will give us interesting perspectives about the future of our societies.
Julie has a certain appetite for music, cinema and literature. She can challenge herself by imagining different scenarios on what the future would be looking like.
Clément gets to focus on political science, geopolitics and ecology, these various topics will help him to deduct what can emerge from the present. More than ever, he gets the willingness to design a futuristic frame because of a loss of sense and anxiety of what comes next.
Cécile’s interests and hobbies are balanced between science and art, the fact that she studies on her own digital art predisposes her to invent some new ideas on how we could use technologies and how they may modify the world.
What we are waiting for in this shared experience is to get to know each other better, and spread our thoughts outside the boundary of our present and common time. We believe that inventing and exploring the future is a great exercise that can develop our imagination and the sense of observation of our contemporary life. From a serious and analytic perspective to a humoristic exploration of tomorrow, the spectrum of prognostics is endless. Creating the future is already stepping into it.
ABOUT THE BLOG
Our blog join together different points of view oriented on the future. Indeed, each member of our group will choose themes to develop. By the multiple subjects and points of view brought, we will ensure the tree structure of our blog, and will lend particular attention to the articulation between its different subjects. In this way, our readers will be able to prolong their reading from one subject to another. Besides the quite entertaining side conveyed by the voluntary fantasy of our posts, readers will be also invited to think about the different ideas developed.
Because it is open-minded, this blog’s aim is to be accessible to a large public, who will be taking part in our reflections by leaving comments, adding ideas, or developing and extending the stories. This is the « raison d’être » of this blog, which create a link and provide the possibility for readers to take part in the process.
Because we project ourselves into different times, we go for both entertaining content and seriousness, we challenge ourselves on different subjects with our various personal stories, for all these reasons, we can think that our blog will be remarkable by its original approaches.
Take the child’s imagination and the poet’s intellectual drunkenness, append to it the analysis of a scientist and the critical mind of a philosopher, and you will obtain the recipe (quite secret) for our blog!
In this way, we will develop subjects on astronomy, with the discovery of an exoplanet sheltering life, on ecology, with a woeful drought (highly probable in the next decade). On archeology with the resuscitation of Egyptian mummies…A diversity of subjects that seemed to be unrelated at first but have sensibility and honesty to bring to life an upcoming future, that might look desirable or terrifying, but which is made to vivify creativeness and perspectives, and who knows, design new paths that unlock the horizon!
